Our guests love the home from home feeling and how much there is to do, whether you are eight, eighteen or eighty (or somewhere in between). Laetitia, our housekeeper, cook and first point of call for almost everything, is often the star of the week.

"On behalf of the Streicker Family, I wanted to thank you for generously sharing your Chateau de la Motte. As my family presently seems to have scattered across the Atlantic, having such a welcoming focal point to gather was ideal. We have had similar gatherings in Hawaii, Panama and Belize but nowhere did we stay with such a feeling of welcome and concern for our wellbeing. Leatitia greeted us with warmth and, of course,provided two wonderful meals. Beverly and I adapted quickly to daily bicycle rides and walks in the woods and forest. We did get to see the Cathedral in Troyes and to shop in the amazing food market a few blocks away. We hope to revisit some time soon."

The weather did indeed heat up during the week but the house itself is wonderfully cool. When we were not at various wine and champagne tastings, we chilled in the pool. The many other games and activities in the gardens were kept for the evenings. There was never a dull moment and consequently our week has flown by at unbelievable speed."

Henrietta sailed round the moat with the children aboard after much rowing. The sun shone and there was much activity in the pool and on the tennis court.
